Reintroducing HACLab
Reintroducing HACLab: New Home, New Momentum in Human + AI Collaboration for Health
- Log in to post comments
🧠 Who We Are
HACLab was founded on a simple but powerful principle: AI should enhance human judgment, not replace it. We focus on developing clinically grounded, explainable AI and data science tools that support real-world decision-making in cancer care, chronic disease management, and health system operations.
From predictive modeling and EHR integration to multimodal analytics and fairness evaluation, our work bridges disciplines, domains, and datasets to ask better questions — and answer them with clarity.
🔬 What’s New?
Since relocating to Emory, HACLab has undergone major transformations:
-
📍 New Home:
Now based at Emory University’s School of Medicine, we collaborate closely with clinicians, data scientists, and health system leaders at Winship Cancer Institute and Emory Healthcare.
-
🧑🤝🧑 New Team:
With the transition, HACLab is now led by a newly assembled core team of physician-researchers, computational biologists, machine learning engineers, and population health scientists — all united by a passion for equitable, impact-driven science.
-
🤝 External Collaborations:
We’re proud to deepen our partnerships with national and industry collaborators, including ConcertAI, Flatiron, Caris Life Sciences, and NIH-funded research networks.
-
🔗 New Website + GitHub:
Our updated website now offers greater visibility into our work, projects, and publications. You can also now explore our pipelines and tools on our GitHub repository — built to promote open science and reproducibility.
🚀 What’s Next?
We're just getting started.
In the coming months, HACLab will launch several new projects focused on:
-
Predictive modeling for treatment response in early-stage cancer
-
Real-time clinical decision support
-
Multimodal integration of EHR, genomics, and social determinants
-
Deployable AI with explainability at its core
We’ll also be releasing open-source code and visual analytics dashboards through our GitHub and publications.
